Jon-I am convinced you last post on Sunday at like 2am was a drunk post!
You were missed, bad mouthed, talked about, then forgiven. I have a short video Mat put together on the “thruster” part of the WOD. Hoping to do more video in the near future, just gotta get better at it.

Oh by the way Tina and I did the Tabata workout… I will lock those horrible numbers away in a swiss bank account never to be seen by anyone ever again. They are posted to be released along with the Kennedy assasination documents and the “Real” story behind that Historical Tree everyone runs to daily on broadway.

In my mind, I earned my trophy! Vics team competed like true Spartans and followed the rules! :) ok, Im just a sore loser. Ill steal Deb’s tropy some day. It’s so cute! :) ps – Im walking like a senior citizen today. I dont know how Ill make it thru the WOD tonight. Ill have to picture all the guys from the other team doing pull-ups from a box!

  8. Tina on May 26th, 2009 6:34 pm

hahahahahaha….and yes you guys def. competed like spartans!

  9. Randy on May 26th, 2009 8:20 pm

Deb G- you should be our team captain next time. I love the trash talk.

  10. steve on May 26th, 2009 8:35 pm

    Lol my left foot.

  11. Vic on May 27th, 2009 12:55 am

Fun workout tonight! PR’d at 230 (3) on the front squat. Averaged about 6-8 Kettlebell snatches per arm with 53 lb KB. Brutal. I already feel like a blugeoned baby seal.

Manny and Andrew, nice to have you aboard. About 50% of the men who work out at ignite are former wrestlers. Coincidence? I think not. We like the pain.

  12. Tina on May 27th, 2009 1:22 am

front squat- 110 (3)— felt strong, my one rep will def. bypass that.
Snatches- 26lb and averaged 8-10, exhausting!

Welcome to the cult new guys, looks like you’ll fit right in, hope to see you soon!

sidenote—whats with this baby seal reference…lol…steves mind thinks in different realms…but I guess Vic understands! also- did you realize your wife squated over 100lbs and did it with perfect form!

    Deb g—-Turkish Get-up WHAT!!

  13. Deb G on May 27th, 2009 1:44 am

    The pain has begun!
Tina – 26lb snatches is incredible. 18lb snatches and I too am feeling the bludgeoned baby seal pain. Thank god for the baby shin guards! Market those!
Steve – I love the “my left foot” comment!

  14. Tina on May 27th, 2009 2:17 am

The guards are perfect, they help me really push for more weight and perfect form rather feel that excrutiating pain on my forearms! We should market them…I’m sure theres other stuff out there similar..there always is…but the shin guards are beyond perfect, I’m happy they helped you….welcome to my world !!!!!!! Happy soreness tomorrow DEB!!

  15. Steve on May 27th, 2009 2:49 am

Pr’d at 225 for the front squat, definatly had some in the tank too.. I think my 1 rep wil be above 250 easy. As for the snatches i was so tired today i skipped it.. BOOOOO on me..instead i did 4 sets of 5 per seide at 52lbs took my time.. sorry guys.. long day…
I def felt like a beaten baby seal today..

  16. Vic on May 27th, 2009 2:56 am

Hey steve when is that test day? I’m assuming front squat, shoulder press, deadlift and 1 mile run.

  17. Foot on May 27th, 2009 3:15 am

Whew, just got in from bludgeoning baby seals. It’s not easy. Let’s make that a new exercise.
Was I the only one today that actually dropped the KB during snatches? Having zero grip is the weirdest feeling.
    This is for you Steve…….”dontstandtheredude”

  18. Vic on May 27th, 2009 3:34 am

Foot, you are not alone. I strategically positioned my youngest child safely out of harms way for my last few snatches because I was hanging on by my fingernails.

Thanks Steve for making me use the 53lber. I have never done that many snatches in that short of time with that much weight. My traps are going to be engorged and swollen but yet injury free, tomorrow.

  19. Manny on May 27th, 2009 4:16 am

Thanks for having us in today, the workout was pretty gnarly… Im proud to say that Crossfit Ignite has popped my cherry haha
