Looks like things are all coming together. We have a solid group of daily athletes and its been amazing.  2more weeks then were all going to be testing, so keep training hard it will all pay off .. Good job Yesterday to “Foot” he is already up to the 62lber doing the Turkish Get Up’s…

matIf you’re wondering who the guy in the picture is, it’s Matt (Matthieu) Hertilus. He is a CrossFit IGNITE athlete. Now, you may be wondering why you have never seen him around before. Well, Matt is a “special” CrossFit IGNITE athlete. He is a specialist, meaning; he is a soon to be a competitive Olympic Weightlifter. CrossFit IGNITE sponsors him and he represents us at the meets. CrossFit IGNITE will soon be a USA Weightlifting Affiliate, With Matt Leading the pack. Matt is one of the most dedicated and driven athletes we have ever met, and we’re proud to have him represent us. Just a little insight into the other facets of CrossFit IGNITE you may not have known about. If anyone is interested in specifically concentrating on one certain realm of training please let us know. In the future I think we may be starting a kettlebell specific “club”. Maybe we will meet once a week and work on just specific kettlebell movements and exercises. We would love to hear comments and ideas for “clubs” or “add on’s” to CrossFit IGNITE.

Complete each exercise for 15 seconds then rest for 15 seconds. Move to the next exercise. Complete this circuit 5 times through.

The TINA Get Up...

So here it is everyone. The infamous picture of Tina being used to do the Turkish Get Up. I don’t know who I’m more impressed by, Jeff Martone being able to  Turkish Get Up a human being, or Tina being able to hold that still and not freak out that she is being held over his head with one hand. haha
Enjoy the workout today. Hope everyones weekend went great. Time to get back to work and start killing it.

Rest Day! Thank God!! What a week huh? We really hit it hard this week, and I need this rest. Please remember to take your rest days. If you have family and friends make sure to spend time with them. At CrossFit IGNITE we promote balance in athleticism, but also balance in your personal lives.  Please take time today to  “smell the roses”, or “watch a leave fall”. Enjoy this beautiful Sunday. Exciting news as well. CrossFit IGNITE was featured on the CrossFit HQ affiliates main page. They used a  picture i sent them a few months back. Tina and I got really pumped when we found out. Go HEREto see it. Thanks again for everyone support making and CrossFit IGNITE an awesome place to be at.

TGIF. As we always say in my house. What a week, thank God its over. Well everyone, the first week of CrossFit IGNITE being open is done.  This was a week for the history books. Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement, and for already starting, “soon to be” deep relationships with Tina and I as well as the other athletes. This was our vision, “to have a place to train the way we want and it be a community of like-minded individuals who all have a passion for life and for training.”  It’s a dream come true and we couldn’t be doing it without everyone who has joined.

So I just realized all my posts with video and article content required a password to the CrossFit Journal. If you do not have a password to the journal e-mail me and I will give you mine. Its an awesome informative online journal, with TONS of content.  Anyone I have ever put onto it has spent countless hours reading and watching video. So again keep educating your minds on the content of CrossFit.  CrossFit IGNITE is a school of education.  Our workouts are a process that never ends. Everyone is doing great. Today we take a rest day from the total strength and work on total body conditioning. Remember workout your rest day schedule for your self. Please don’t train 6 days straight. Please make sure you try to set time aside to study the video’s and articles we post daily. They all coincide with what we’re doing and its up to you to continually educate yourself beyond what we teach you inside the doors of CrossFit IGNITE.

Today we go onto our second day of the 4 week “strength bias” program. For the next 4 weeks CrossFit IGNITE will be concentrating on building up every ones strength base. Watch this great video explaining the PRESS. The workout is as follows.

Met-Con:
15 seconds on 15 seconds off  alternating sides for 10 minutes using your Gymboss Interval Timer.
  • Kettlebell snatches R/L (If your not familiar with the Kettlebell SNATCH watch this VIDEO. or scale it with a 1 hand swing.)
300 jump ropes
 
Don’t forget to work on your Turkish Get Up. .

Check out this great article explaining the Turkish Get Up.   For now our skill work will concentrate on the turkish get up, before  you guys start taking on a choice of a handfull of skills we feel should be learned.

WOD:

Strength:
Deadlift
5-5-5 reps
Then
1 x 15 reps

 
Met-Con:
Body Weight “Half Ladder” for time.
 
1 squat
1 pushup
1 situp
1 pullup
 
2 squats
2 pushups
2 situps
2 pullups
 
3 squats
3 pushups
3 sit ups
3 pullups
 
Keep adding one rep to each movement till you hit 10 of each. Do this non-stop till you finish.
