Man vs. Metal..... 1-1

Man vs. Metal..... 1-1

Andrew threw down hardcore yesterday with the Turkish Get Up Challenge. He tackled the beast (105) with great energy, nailed the right side and just missed it on the left. Re-named MANdrew , he has now taken off his cheer leading shorts and traded them in for a pair of Man shorts whatever they may be lol.  Great Job everyone with their new PR’s (Randy, Dave B, Drew, Deb G, Mandy, Carlos).

Andrew…you had it man….you had it. NOW you know the frustration that is THE BEAST! I hate this friggin thing more then ever now. It apparently wasn’t happy with just my shoulder. Stupid Beast.

    What is an elevated push-up?

  4. JohnO on July 23rd, 2009 4:07 am

One other thing…On June 17, it was 3 rounds for time. Did you forget that for tomorrow, or are we just doing it once?

  5. JR on July 23rd, 2009 5:45 am

    Dear Beast/Drago/Ba’alzebub of Kettlebells,

Your days are numbered. I’m coming after you not only for the SOB that you are but because you tried to castrate FOOT.

Sleep well for tomorrow you may die.

Steve – Great pics…already upload a bunch to my Facebook. Speaking of which, why aren’t you on there????

My arms, shoulders and upper back are sooooooo sore today…happily taking a rest day. :)

Great story about Scott Rigsby. He is a double leg amputee and he competes in triathlons. My question for Foot is what is more important: your legs or the family jewels?

Let’s hope Foot won’t be a double amputee. Has anyone heard from him today? :-)

  12. Randy on July 23rd, 2009 2:05 pm

Andrew: I laughed out loud when I read your statement of impending triumph over the KB demon.

  13. Brad on July 23rd, 2009 2:08 pm

My CrossFit IGNITE quote of the week so far was from Andy, who’s guiding me through the mandatory fundamentals… this is Day 2 of fundamentals, but third day straight of beginning my IGNITE adventure:

“And tomorrow you’ll do your first REAL Crossfit Workout!”

It’s a significant quote to me only I’m sure, because he didn’t know that I had already done the Monday: Full Body workout… but I had thought he did know, so when he said that……

I think I threw up a little bit in my mouth.

  16. Tina on July 23rd, 2009 3:39 pm

    Andrew….sooo close

  17. Deb G on July 23rd, 2009 3:58 pm

    Mandrew – congrats!
Tina – this is what I mean….I need a rest day but this work out sounds like fun….not sure if that’s the right word but I dont want to miss it! Ugh, it I were vampire I wouldnt have to.

  18. DREW on July 23rd, 2009 5:52 pm

Oh, good. Now I don’t have to worry about people trying to call Mandy and I “Mandrew”.
And, thanks to a certain dude stealing the name “Andy”, despite not actually having a name related to it, I don’t have to worry about hearing the corny “Mandy and Andy” at CrossFit Ignite.

Tonight’s workout looks awesome. Now, I am not really sure if it IS awesome… it could just be that I am becoming obsessed from drinkin’ all this Kool-Aid (sugar free, better-living-through-chemistry free, Paleo Kool-Aid, of course). Alas, I am taking off down the GSP right after work to drop off Captain Jack at his doggie-sitter… so no ready-to-fight stomach-tight Ignite delight for me tonight.

Yeah, that rhyming part was for Funkmaster Steve, of course.

  19. Mandy on July 23rd, 2009 6:57 pm

Tina – I see your pic from last night. How did you do with your hands??

  20. Tina on July 23rd, 2009 7:03 pm

I wrapped my hands as u can c in the pic…I gritted my teeth and sucked it up! I was holding up well until I got up to the heavier bells..I had to stop at 53 but it was still a good workout!I hate callusus!

  21. Mandy on July 23rd, 2009 7:55 pm

Glad you were able to get it done though!

  22. Lane Escobar on July 23rd, 2009 9:46 pm

Oh i am so proud!! Honey you are so strong!!

  23. Randy on July 24th, 2009 12:04 am

Hey Matt: Great job today. I am very proud of how you pushed through and did a full 3 rounds. Keep it up buddy!!!
