Above: 3rd from left. Our very first CrossFit Ignite member Jeff Lysaght. Jeff got shipped off to Iraq right before we opened. Here we have Jeff and his fellow soldiers at CrossFit Joint Base Balad, Iraq after a morning “Murph” workout in their body armor! Jeff said “the motivating music during this workout was coming from a prayer tower outside the wire”. He is missed but will be returning soon, safe and sound.

    Upcoming running events from Neil

First one is the March 7 10M trail run in Jersey:

Next, there’s an 8K (roughly 5M) for the NYRR:

    http://nyrr.org/races/2010/r0313×00.asp

Then there’s the Brooklyn Half Marathon, the best of the five borough
    series, in my opinion:

    http://www.nyrr.org/races/2010/hms/brooklyn_reg.asp

Then there’s the Wall Street Run, an amazing 5K through Lower
    Manhattan in the summer time:

    http://www.nyrr.org/races/2010/r0624×00.asp

Then, my big one, the New York Marathon (qualified and registered, so
    I’m running it):

    http://www.ingnycmarathon.org/

My wife has also registered me for the Disney Marathon in January…

This doesn’t take into account “adventure” races like Tough Mudder on
May 2 and the Mt. Penn Mudfest on April 3 or Run Amok on May 15.

The adventure series mentioned above requires some travel and
logistics that I haven’t fully worked out yet, but will let you know
when I figure out which ones I’m doing.

Folks, Videos from the CRASH-B Concept 2 world championships last weekend in Boston: http://crossfitrowing.wordpress.com/2010/02/19/videos-from-2010-crash-b-championships/

CRASH-B stands for “Charles River All-Star Has-Beens” and was started by Tiff Wood, who is one of the all-time greats of American rowing.

The trophy for winning is a hammer :-)

    I like your blog Marc!

Anyone having fun with today’s workout so far? How you 6am’ers and 9am’ers doing?

Looks like a huge leg/arm workout.

Brad, thanks, I missed today’s WOD because I am cooked from the last few days. I tried yesterday’s CF Endurance Lactate Shuttle instead on the C2:
    5 mins (1458m), 2:30 rest
    6 mins (1666m), 3:00 rest
    7 mins (1978m)
It wasn’t fun – I am still cooked.

    Deb-

There’s a Pump near my office in Midtown and go there often. Very good meals. I know one of the guys that’s helping to re-stage their brand (they had been primarily a healthy burrito joint with a few locations; now they’ve changed their menu and built out their locations a bit more.) Again, good place. They’re at 40th and Madison.
