who would be into a Nutrition get together.,,,
Just us members, like an accountability session to see how everyone is doing with the paleo stuff, any issues or hang ups.. whats working for who and what isnt. Lso who found the best price on beef or chicken where to get the best almond butter for the money etc etc,..
we ar thinking a week night at 8pm or saturday at 10am.. if we do a weeknight this can happen soon if we do a sat this wont happen till mid may..
post yes or no and a time that works

Bad Brad, Steve told me you can do a pistol squat. I am impressed.

  3. Brad on April 28th, 2010 4:01 am

Thanks Randy. It is true. Still can’t do burpees though… come watch on Wednesday and you’ll see what I mean! lol

8pm Nutrition get together during the week would work for me perfectly…. but I’m not going paleo out of personal preference. Does that matter?

Did 7PM guest WOD at San Francisco Crossfit:
    20 min AMRAP:
Dumbbell hang snatch – 10 each side
    American dumbbell swing – 15
Dumbbell goblet lunge – 10 each side
    got 8-1/3 rounds
Interesting that this is a well-known affiliate with over 100 members, but basically is just 2 shipping containers and a tarp tent on a concrete pad in the Presidio. Very basic setup (but great view!).

Yeah Mark. That gym is the stuff of legends. Did you meet Kelly Staret? He is the crossfit movement and mobility guru. He has a bunch of videos on the journal.

Way to represent Ignite. That wod looks tough.

Depending on the night, 8pm would probably work for one of us. Maybe we could share some recipes.

    Hi Vic,

I didn’t meet Kelly although Steve did an e-mail intro to him to get the guest privileges. One of their coaches, Angel, is coming back to NYC for a family event but has never traveled outside of CA, so I told him to look us up if he needs a place to work out!

Seems to have a broader base of novice or casual athletes that we do…classes had 15-40 attendees, many of whom appeared to be novices or drop-ins. I know they just got voted best gym in SF so they probably have a bunch of new members. I would say overall Ignite has much better equipment and better music!

It was fun because the coaches are all powerlifter types and I learned some different moves during the warmups. They also do base fitness training for Marin Rowing and share their space with an outrigger canoe club, so that was interesting to me to talk to them about that.

Interesting to get a different perspective!

I’m in on the Saturday nutrition get together..

Hamstrings are on fire today (from Monday!) and definitely still feeling the lower back (but in a good way I suppose). That 1×20 DL @ 70% 3RM is killer.

Lucy you are too funny! The story from Home depot was excellent! Your the best!

Steve…..weeknights work good for me, except Wednesday(BRUTAL DAY). John and I would love to get more ideas on eating “clean” and we would love to share what we have been doing We are cooking up a storm. We can’t complain we are both feeling great!! John thinks he made a Paleo smoothie today….here it is.. If anyone disagrees please let him know!

    Strawberries
    Bananas
    teaspoon of ginger
    Coconut Milk
    Lots of ice

Sorry he has no exact measurements…you know those Italians they just know how much to put in!!!

Sounds great during the week for me, the later the better.

Kathryn, I will def try it. Sounds Yummy !!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank, not sure if there are two Frank’s. But, If this is the Frank that
is stationed in Paramus, then I take a class with your boss.

He said they posted your front page photo from ignite all over the place.
    LOL.

    You must recruit him.

    Take Care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
