Hi this is my first time at CA (Crossfit Anonymous) . In order to start the healing process I feel I must admit I am truly a Crossfit addict. I will try to stay away but the thoughts of lactic acid build up, 24″ box jumps, and the possibly of tears by the end of tomorrow WOD will likely be enough to lure me back. DAMN YOU CROSSFIT!!!!!

  4. Steve on July 13th, 2010 10:25 pm

    UMM HELLOO!!

    EVERYONE!!

    JOHN AGAR is DOWN 30#’s

  6. Steve on July 13th, 2010 10:46 pm

“In the garage, I feel safe.
No one cares about my ways.
In the garage where I belong.
No one hears me sing this song.
    In the garage.”

This Song reminds me of IGNITE aside the singing part lol.. but you get what I mean..In Ignite everything is OK.. everything is Normal.. when you leave, what we do, what we feel, what we love, is not normal…. As much as we consume our selves with it, it feels normal and feels like reality. The masses dont get it. they never will.. But we do.
We get it, and we get you.. you are safe here..
    In the garage,……everyhting is “okay”

    Big John Stud,

Good Work Bro, Keep it going!

Sorry i didnt post about you first, but Kenia has my heart. haha

    Brad,

Your an animal….The Log will be your next TGU.

    Alex,

Welcome aboard brother! Don’t worry about the Lactic Acid Build up…Nothing a 20 minute bath full of Ice cant fix. Thats when you know your an addict.

  9. Tina on July 13th, 2010 10:59 pm

    JOHN awesome job!!!!

  10. Stef C. on July 13th, 2010 11:01 pm

JOHNNNNNNNN THE WARRIOR!!!!! Keep up the awesome hardcore work dude!!!

  11. Mark L on July 13th, 2010 11:02 pm

    ice baths are a crutch

  12. Johno on July 13th, 2010 11:06 pm

I guess there must be another John, lol. There is no way anyone would be congratulating me after today’s workout. I’m the bald John from the 6PM class who didn’t do anything today to brag about. In fact, after taking some time off over the past few months, I only recognize half of the names in this post (Ignite is GROWING!!!!!). So, if you see a bald guy who looks like he doesn’t know anyone at an upcoming Crossfit session, say hello to me!

  13. Nick C on July 13th, 2010 11:12 pm

Ice bath’s and jack Daniel’s might be a crutch, but the both offer such a wonderful numbing sensatio

CFI is growing and so is the Blog, up to 61 posts in a day, good stuff!.

Definatley makes it a better and more interactive enviroment.

Keep up the good work Sargeant Steve.

  14. Steve on July 13th, 2010 11:16 pm

Lol the blog is better then ever lately..
such a variety of people on it.. it pushes me to post more..
    i used to be a 1x a day person..

  15. Brad on July 13th, 2010 11:43 pm

BIG JOHN IS IN THE ZONE!!! THE JOHN ZONE!!!

  16. Brad on July 13th, 2010 11:46 pm

JohnO, great to see you today… but you aren’t quite Old School IGNITE yet… That honor goes to FOOT I believe… and Andrew, but we still see him around from time to time. Drew would be old school, but I still have hope!

  17. Uncle Randy on July 13th, 2010 11:52 pm

Old school is if you were at ignite on day 1…

  18. Vic on July 13th, 2010 11:54 pm

Like you and I Randy? I think besides Steve and Tina, we might be the only ones.

  19. Brad on July 13th, 2010 11:54 pm

    Reasons I love Crossfit IGNITE.

    1. I can talk about shaving my palms and no one looks at me funny.
    2. Saying I did Helen, Nancy, Fran, and Annie this week doesn’t bring looks of disgust from the Ignite women. It brings looks of respect.
    3. I can brag about other people to their face, and they don’t get bashful. They get proud.
    4. Igniter’s just understand. Nothing else to say about that.
    5. I’ve seen more goals and plateaus reached and broken through in my 10 months at Ignite, than I have in my last ten years on planet earth.
    6. No one thinks I’m brown nosing right now, because everyone is still nodding their heads in agreement.
    7. Meeting all these incredible people from ALL walks of life. I feel like I have a new friend the first moment I meet you.

  20. Brad on July 13th, 2010 11:57 pm

    Uncle Randy,

But.. old school is also if you aren’t coming to IGNITE anymore. So when that person finally shows up it’s like… Old School.

And btw, I was in no way trying to say I was old school. That’s like admitting I am actually old as well.. and I swear, I’ve grown younger at IGNITE.

  21. john agar on July 14th, 2010 12:04 am

Thanks guys, and Nick all is forgiven. I would hope that you would notice her before me :D

  22. Brad on July 14th, 2010 12:11 am

I need to work on Human Turkish Get Ups.

    I need some volunteers.

  23. Stephanie on July 14th, 2010 12:32 am

John – AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work. It certainly isn’t easy, but it certainly couldn’t be more fun, right? And yet another one of my idols! The list grows on a daily basis!

Now doesn’t anyone else think that any Non CrossFitter reading Brad’s last post would be afraid? Look at that avatar and those words….very scary sounding!

  24. Brad on July 14th, 2010 12:37 am

But you wouldn’t be scared right Stephanie?

  25. Stephanie on July 14th, 2010 12:41 am

    NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stephanie, I love that you are posting!!!!! CrossFitting Stephanies UNITE!!!

Lili, I love your knits and I am excited to purchase some of your items! What a talent you are!

Randy, when will the sixers be graced with your awesome presence?

Brad, although I’m sure you’d have an easier time lifting Katie or Tina, you’d have more of a challenge if you do a “Stefy Get Up”! lmao

Nick C., am I excited to see your Air Squats today or what!!!

  29. Brad on July 14th, 2010 8:34 am

Randy have your people call my people.

    Stefy get up? Game on!

  30. Marc Monplaisir on July 14th, 2010 8:38 am

  32. Stephanie on July 14th, 2010 9:19 am

because I’m a CrossFitter and I’m a Stephanie and that’s what we do!

  33. Stef C. on July 14th, 2010 9:53 am

Stephanie, I love you. Stef ;) Are all us Stephs natural born cheerleaders?

  34. Neil on July 14th, 2010 10:35 am

Great job to the 6am class. Everyone crushed it. Got 4:32 today…interested to see what the times look like…and Steve’s been a bit delinquent in posting the photos.

  35. Steve on July 14th, 2010 10:40 am

Photos are up for past 2 days i did yesterdays last night,,,,

off my case toilet face…. (**no neil has nothing close to a toilet face, please dont anyone take that and run, as we all know i like to jest**)

  36. Brad on July 14th, 2010 10:53 am

Sounds like a great time Neil… especially after maxing out on squats.

  37. Steve on July 14th, 2010 10:55 am

yes 6am definatly had great times today..
830 and 930 did great too had some 30″ box jumpers

and ASHLEY crushed a 215# PR back squat.. with ease..

  38. Brad on July 14th, 2010 11:03 am

might have to build a 34″ inch box soon!

  39. Steve on July 14th, 2010 11:04 am

    i have the wood…
wish i knew some unemployed, and college kids that would help me..

man wonder where i can find two men that do nothing during the day…

    hmm
    anyone know anyone?

  40. Steve on July 14th, 2010 11:15 am

I wanna see us hit 100 posts..!!

  41. Adam on July 14th, 2010 11:17 am

    Hey Steve,
I think it was 220# Ashley did? Either way she made it look so damn easy.

I want to add that its great the way everyone motivates and inspires each of us to do better. With that, using the 30″ box is no fun when you’re only 5′ 9″. Thanks KFJ for pushing me to do it.

I think the 5pm and 6pm class should have to do their squats today listening to “We can dance if we want too” just like the 9:30 class had to.

  42. Steve on July 14th, 2010 11:25 am

Pat Benetar’s Husbands Nick Name is “Spyder”

As cool as she is, and as good as her songs were..

    His nickname still sucks..

    (info recieved from Stephanie)

  43. Brad on July 14th, 2010 12:25 pm

Great job Adam on the 30″ box!

    Great job Ashley as well!

  44. Steve on July 14th, 2010 1:12 pm

Ok so I been hearing alot of “when do you workout?” or ” do you do the workout” here is video proof of my 1rm PR @ 305#..
my depth could have been a bit lower but im pleased..

  48. Deb on July 14th, 2010 1:58 pm

Welcome back John O! Dont think you will see me in the pm classes though..
Adam – great job on the 30″ box and why did you have to put that damn song back into my head!!!!!!!!
    Ashley – great squats!

  49. Nick C on July 14th, 2010 2:31 pm

    Steve,

I will be more than willing to help with the 34/36 inch box. I might need to know how to build them for Crossfit Englewood and Ridgwood..haha.

    Stef,

You will be getting a lot more than just airsquats today at the 6 p.m class. ;)

    S_P_Y_D_E_R

  50. Stephanie on July 14th, 2010 2:38 pm

OMG….30″ box jumps are becoming routine in our garage! Once again more idols on my list – Adam, coming from someone who is only 5′2″ (and 1/2!)…..I bow to you my friend! A 30″ box may as well be the Empire State Building to me!

Cool to watch you in action Steve! Never doubted your amazing abilities for a minute!

  51. Deb M on July 14th, 2010 2:45 pm

Steve, was the song in the background of your squat “I wanna know what love is” by Foreigner? Now that is old school for you.
    Great backsquat, by the way!
Brad, your TGU was amazing. I was telling George the Spartan about it today. Yes, the Elefther clan has returned everyone! I think Ignite has been a little quiet lately without George around….

  52. Brad on July 14th, 2010 2:47 pm

    Thanks Deb!

Yea, been missing George and Nick and Karen… glad they are back! I want to see more handstand pictures from Nick.

Maybe a group photo of the Elefthers doing handstands.

  53. Adam on July 14th, 2010 3:02 pm

Anyone else notice how the music selection has changed since Steve went to Bon Jovi?

  54. Nick C on July 14th, 2010 3:14 pm

    Steve,

Stay on your heels, stay on your heels!!

Get your butt lower, get below parrallel.

man Steve I wonder where you could find guys doing absolutely nothing during the day

  58. Stephanie on July 14th, 2010 4:08 pm

Let’s see how many we can find Mark – still working on those 100 posts for the day.

    Who’s here?

  59. Brad on July 14th, 2010 4:11 pm

Here. I am working, but I have Ignite on auto refresh and auto type. This is actually the computer typing for me, while I work really hard.

  60. kongfoojim on July 14th, 2010 4:12 pm

Sick one today…30in box jumps are life-o-suction!!! Deb M…every time at CrossFit I think to myself… WWDD(What Would Deb Do)…then try to follow it…well today that would have meant not doing the workout….what the!?…thanks a lot for that my little cherry picking inspiration…maybe you can just come down and watch people workout…

  61. Marc Monplaisir on July 14th, 2010 4:13 pm

Sorry I will miss the awesome-sounding WOD today.
I tried to the the CFE WOD on-water but the Passaic was a demolition derby after the rains. The most I could get out of it were 8x 200-400m pieces without risk of getting pile-driven by a log.

  62. Deb M on July 14th, 2010 4:30 pm

Kung Fool Jim. I like to rest once in awhile. And anyway, I guess you didnt notice I did my backsquats…? So go bang on your drums like you do for months at a time and then tell me who is slacking.
    Ohhh. snap!

  63. Kenia on July 14th, 2010 4:35 pm

Steve you find the guys to build you the new boxes they can get started on the vanity table for the bathroom you promised me you were going to build. I know Tony-2-a-day would also appreciate it as much as i do… thanks

  64. Lili on July 14th, 2010 4:37 pm

Need to get a comment onto here, if only to add to the number and help reach 100 for the day. Rest day for me, as much as I would have loved to be there today, Coach says I gotta rest… Will be there tomorrow to tackle yet another fun filled wod.

  65. Brad on July 14th, 2010 4:39 pm

I think there needs to be a Dance Off between KFJ and Deb M.

    We’ll see who get’s served!

    “Kung Fool Jim” – brilliant

  67. Nick C on July 14th, 2010 4:57 pm

NO WATER, NO CHALK, NO RX…..add NO REST to the mix.

    Brad,

Recent Movie Review #1: I saw it about a month or 2 ago, but it was the last movie thati really really liked…….law abiding citizen

    Invictus.. blah

Book of Eli….was also pretty good

Shutter Island……was pretty good, but too confusing for braindead spyder…i didnt get the ending not going to lie.

    Wolfman…Sucked

    Youth In Revolt…..Tacky and Korny

    Green Zone……Pretty good

Valentine’s Day…Was ok, but i have a thing for Romantic Comedies and Matthew Mcconaughey…dont tell anyone

i have a lot of time on my hands as you can see, haha

This has been brought to you by Siskel and Spyder

P.S. Im open to suggestions to other movies

  68. Mark L on July 14th, 2010 4:59 pm

if you want romantic comedies jump into some audrey hepburn, won’t regret it

  69. Nick C on July 14th, 2010 5:02 pm

    Kung Fu Jim,

I don’t know you, but i have no problem going to Olive’s Slugging a couple beers and shots and supporting your band.

I’ll be the heavily intoxicated person attemting to stage dive. (or bar dive)

I’ll try and recruit some of the the Evening Crew.

    This is what we do.

  70. Adam on July 14th, 2010 6:08 pm

    Movies in my world lately:

    1. Toy Story 3 in 3-D two thumbs up
    2. Shrek 4 sucked
    3. Wall-E awesome
    4. Up very good

See where I’m going here. If it’s not animated I don’t see it.

Try watching the Hangover or The Departed with a 9 and 5 year old. Not good.

  71. Mark L on July 14th, 2010 6:40 pm

Adam my grandmother took me to see death wish V when I was 10. I turned out fairy well for the most part although the majority of “My Hero” themed papers in elementary school were about Charles Bronson.

  72. Adam on July 14th, 2010 7:46 pm

lol Mark. My 5 year olds favorite movie happens to be “Dodgeball” and so far she’s sort of normal. SHe also thinks burpees are fun.

  73. Kenia on July 14th, 2010 8:38 pm

Adam, I’m never asking you for suggestions on movies to watch. I hate animated movies.

  74. Kenia on July 14th, 2010 8:47 pm

P.s. Katie is posting from my laptop

  75. Kenia on July 14th, 2010 8:47 pm

I meant to say P.S. Adam that was Katie posting from my laptop

  76. Deb M on July 14th, 2010 9:03 pm

It would be simple to get to 100 posts if we all do what Kenia just did ^^^
Just type something..post it..then type something again…make a mistake and type one more post. An easy 3!

But seriously, everyone needs to know Kenia’s Magical Paleo Pancake Recipe. It is the best I have tried and the pancakes are so amazing!
    Kenia, post away.

As far as movies, Steve says I have the worst taste ever in them:
    Usual Suspects – highly recommended
Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels – so good
    Snatch – amazing
Red Dawn – at least JR and I like this one…old classic
And of course, anything that contains zombies. Gotta love the zombies…

  77. Kenia on July 14th, 2010 9:36 pm

I wish I were as amazing at Katie. She is so incredible and I can only hope to be half the woman she is.

  78. Brad on July 14th, 2010 9:38 pm

    RED DAWN IS AWESOME!!!

    So is Usual Suspects.

Snatch? Is that movie about Kettle Bells?

and I LOVE animated movies. Wall-E was really great… UP was really SQUIRREL!!!!…………. was really funny too.

You are my new master, and I looooove youuuuuu….

  79. Stef C. on July 14th, 2010 10:35 pm
