  8. Katie on August 16th, 2010 11:52 pm

    Brad,

Why are you watching videos of young Indian boys pole dancing? Is there something Ivana needs to know?

I’m pretty sure those are the exact skills you will be learning in the beast skills workshop…. Well, maybe not.

  9. Randy on August 17th, 2010 12:28 am

Seriously Brad, Indian boys/men in orange speedos dancing on a pole! What were you thinking? What appeals to you in that video? I am a little creeped out.

  10. Chris Ham on August 17th, 2010 12:36 am

I never post but, I just wanted to thank the 6pm class for a great workout and for pushing me. Looking forward to it again.

  11. Brad on August 17th, 2010 12:36 am

I’m so totally showing up in a small orange speedo…. and I ain’t gonna warn ya about when!

  12. NIck C on August 17th, 2010 2:58 am

    Brad,

Holy S***! you know whats so ironic…those people in the video you posted were our neighbors at the HOTEL EMPRESS in asbury park. Speedos and baby oil!

    Steve,

I love this workout…it will put in perfect beach shape for antigua this saturday.

P.S. I will not quit CFI, instead re-devote myself CFI after my trip! I will have PMA, and lose the funk ive been in.

  13. Kenia on August 17th, 2010 4:05 am

Thank you for my b-day wishes I HEART you all!!!

Chris H- Thank you for the mental push today, if it wasn’t because you ran past me like a speed demon I would have never hauled a$$ like I did to try to catch you!

  14. T-rev on August 17th, 2010 7:15 am

I did the first 3 or 4 sets RX’D and after that I lost the feeling in both of my legs LMAO!!!! I know that my times are going to absolutely SUCK for the next 2 to 3 weeks but hopefully after that I should be back to my old form and not sucking all of the wind in the box…. (I THINK)… LOL!! Anyways, GREAT JOB AGAIN TO EVERYONE this morn and see you all tomo at 6am.. WOOOO HOOOO!!!!

    Signing off…

  18. Adam on August 17th, 2010 9:38 am

Marc – Way to go. Not surprised though. You work your tail off and all your hard effort paid off.

Team Dirty – way to represent CFI.

Having a good time here in LBI. Been doing beach workouts in the morning to avoid the come back from vacation suck. Get many funny looks from people walking by. Guess they have never seen anyone swinging a kettlebell and doing burpees in the sand before then running from jetty to jetty. Oh well.

    See you all next week,

  19. T-rev on August 17th, 2010 9:39 am

Knarf- I wish i was going back to college. T-Rev and Trevor L might be name brothers but Trevor L gets to go south while I am stuck in the box doing burpees!

    See you guys tonight

  20. Coach Steve on August 17th, 2010 10:43 am

    Great Wod today..

  21. Vastinator the BodyBuilder on August 17th, 2010 11:34 am

@TRev, No we don’t sleep much. We WOD, we drink, we get home around 0300/0400…some of us wake up for work…nurse our hangover…then WOD again…others…just sleep in…nurse the hangover…swim in Spyder’s pool…then WOD…

    super high speed, super healthy.

I’m so excited for this workout…bring it!

  22. Vastinator the BodyBuilder on August 17th, 2010 11:42 am

@Brad……wtf?……i’m a little disturbed…but, that’s way too easy… give Team Dirty a couple rounds, we’ll be pole dancing in no time…

@Steve, we need a pole so we can start training to compete with the Indian spiders.

    @Spyder/NickC you’ve officially lost your name…

@Katie, I LOLed at your comment to Brad…

@Ken, too easy…we can do that pole dance thing for sure…

  23. Coach Steve on August 17th, 2010 11:51 am

Is this your attempt at an intervention?

  27. Katie on August 17th, 2010 1:02 pm

Ps. How are we not supposed to drink after the FGB fundraiser? That is within the 30 days.

  28. Steve on August 17th, 2010 1:07 pm

  30. Steve on August 17th, 2010 1:08 pm

  31. Katie on August 17th, 2010 1:14 pm

Ummmm I did the no drinking challenge for 2 months in April and May. I was bored. I hate that you are going to get me to do this by appealing to my competitive side. That’s just playing dirty. Team dirty.

  32. Steve on August 17th, 2010 1:16 pm

If you dont think you can complete the challenge its cool .. u dont have to parktake.. I can understand if your not up for it.. its tuff

  36. Katie on August 17th, 2010 1:21 pm

    Ouch

  37. Katie on August 17th, 2010 1:23 pm

See the thing is Steve, I listen to my body when she needs a rest day. I’d rather do that then dog the entire work out like some people I know. In case you don’t know what I mean, I’m speaking of your 2 minute 200m runs yesterday. Yeah, you. No wonder why you always WOD alone…

  38. Steve on August 17th, 2010 1:23 pm

I dont know when.. whenever we can rally the troops.. Just kidding before..
its $35 a person it looks really cool

  41. Katie on August 17th, 2010 1:34 pm

You did leave that one wide open, control freak.

And I’m in for the obstacle course. That looks like fun. I bet we could get 15 people for sure.

And yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to JR.

  42. Katie on August 17th, 2010 1:35 pm

Ps. It’s no fun when you insult me and then tell me you are just kidding. That’s like letting me win.

Ok. I’m going to stop using this board as an excuse to not do my laundry. See you @ 6.

Robin “Kool-Aid” Estevez….loved your poem the other day..Here is one that applies to martial artists, but I think CrossFitters understand as well..enjoy..

    Awesome Martial arts poem!!
    Poem by Marc Gatien

    MASTERS IN TRAINING…

The bells ring and I detect incenses,
Butterflies in my stomach have cooled their senses.
Enter the armory as a mere man,
Leave as warriors of the same clan.
Spread to four corners on the hard floor,
Contorting our bodies to melt our core.

The time is close at hand, let us prepare,
Place your cloth on the ground and wipe the floor bare.
All in a row, we are stakes in the ground,
We do not move, do not make a sound.

The teacher comes forth and our journey begins,
We bow our bodies, but raise our chins.
The doors are flung open for all to know,
We’re in his world now with no place to go.

Working long and hard without much break,
For those who quit quick this was a mistake.
I’ve tried my best and my muscles all ache,
Even ones I didn’t know that I could awake.

Pushing the limit as far as we can,
Reaching our goals with a guiding hand.
But its over now and we must go,
What wills me to stay I do not know.

I am reminded that the test isn’t done,
Because life is a game that cannot be won.
Though, if I take time to practice my skills,
I’ll be scaling more mountains than hills.

  49. Rich on August 17th, 2010 2:37 pm

    To all of CFI,

I want to thank Steve and Tina for helping out with this fundraiser. I am not sure how many of you have kids, but I can assure you that no child should go through something like this. I cannot pretend to understand what Shane’s family is going through, but I fully intend to whatever I can to help them in their fight.

    Thanks in advance to all

  50. Katie on August 17th, 2010 2:49 pm

    KFJ. One word: MOOOOO

And I’m happy to blow up Tony’s success and announce that he texted me saying he got a 94% on his exam. Genius.

  51. Brad on August 17th, 2010 2:59 pm

    Single Set??? hahahaha yea right.

What’s the farthest anyone’s gotten to so far? Anyone get to 50?

  52. Marc Monplaisir on August 17th, 2010 4:26 pm

All, did the CFE WOD today of 20x 10″/5″ – gotta be the most efficient WOD ever – it’s like 15 mins end to end incl. warmup and cooldown. I didi it on the water as the 5-stroke starting sequence of half, half, 3/4, 3/4, full strokes, with 2 strokes off, at 38-42 SPM in the single at a 1:45-1:47 pace per 500m. It’s short but my muscles were burning.

I want to try to single-set the front squats Brad – I think my legs could do it but I’m worried the wrists will be the weak link. Time crunch today – maybe I can try it tongiht.

  53. Lili on August 17th, 2010 4:57 pm

Today was AWESOME! I know I over use that word but there are few better and more fitting.

Deb M, it’s always an honor to WOD while you are near. You planted the idea that I could complete this with 50#. Before long I realized that reducing the weight was no longer an option. It took a loooong while to finished and there were many situps to be done (200 in total – I kept track). But, after 8 stops… TA-DA! Done and done. Thank you, Deb and thank you, Steve.

Sandra, You are mighty! I love it when you bring your girls to CFI cause it shows young girls how wonderful and incredible it is for women to be strong. What an example you are!

  54. Vic on August 17th, 2010 5:02 pm

Deb M. Got 50 on her first set. Only took 3 breaks the whole time. Ridiculous! Nice video btw. Looks like an interesting challenge but I’m not sure about the take off maneuver.

I’m in for the alcohol free challenge. I’m assuming it starts Sept 1st?

  55. Neil on August 17th, 2010 9:01 pm

Can we make the booze challenge to start in early October? That would be great timing for some of the training I’m doing…

  56. Neil on August 17th, 2010 9:11 pm

Oh, and you and Deb with the 10 and 12 minute times today? Holy crap…

  57. john agar on August 17th, 2010 10:23 pm

Im definitely down for the no alcohol challenge.

  58. Katie on August 17th, 2010 11:59 pm

Hmm. VIc and Deb: You are animals. If you add both of your times together, you still finished before me. Hahaha.
