“The quality of our lives is based almost entirely on what we derive from our experiences”

The wisdom we acquire throughout our lives is the reward of existence. Life’s lessons can take many forms and present us with many challenges. There are lots of mundane lessons that help us learn to navigate with grace, poise, and tolerance in this world. And there are those once-in-a-lifetime lessons that touch us so deeply that they change the course of our lives forever. Ultimately, when we acknowledge that growth is an integral part of life, the concept of “life as lesson” no longer hurts. We can openly and joyfully look for the blessing buried in the difficulties we face without feeling that we are trapped in a roller-coaster ride of forced learning. Though we cannot always know when we are experiencing a life lesson, the wisdom we gain will bless us with the great hindsight.

Day 18: Spend Time in Nature

Task 1: Morning Routine (does not have to be in this order, just do all) (45-60min)

Meditation – (10min)

Move (5min)

Silence – Sit and do your morning minute (1-2min)

Journal – Set your timer and write for 10min *3 gratitude’s + anything that comes to mind* (10min)

Read – Set your timer and read anything you choose for 10 min *No blogs or social media* (10min)

Plan – Break out your mindfulness sheets or planner and set your intentions for the day. (10min)

Task 2: Take a walk in nature, ideally for an hour if you can.

Why: When we spend time in nature, it helps us put our problems in perspective. If our daily minute is akin to brushing our teeth, a walk in nature is a professional clean from the dentist (without any painful bleeding of course). To get the full benefit, leave your phone at home so the sounds of nature can improve your mood.
