CrossFit IGNITE is a school of elite fitness located at 33 South Maple Avenue, Park Ridge NJ. We teach the CrossFit methodology, which includes basic to advanced level classes in functional exercise, athletic conditioning, plyometrics, kettlebell trainig, olympic weightlifting, medicine ball training, and basic gymnastics. Our students are extremely diverse in their experience, conditioning, and lives. They include firefighters, students, triathletes, grandparents, business executives, stay-at-home moms, military personnel, martial artists, and anyone who is open to the best fitness experience of their lives. Our atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie to those willing to put in the work.

We utilize CrossFit as our primary training method, and focus our students on optimizing physical competence in each of 10 recognized fitness domains:

Crossfit workouts are functional, varied and intense, but scale to any ability level. Results are dramatic and rapid. Started as a maverick gym in Santa Cruz, CrossFit has spread worldwide, becoming the principal strength and conditioning program for police academies, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other everyday people and professional athletes worldwide. Why? Because CrossFit works… for the average Joe, to the elite athlete.
Our Blog & Our Daily Workouts:
“What is the deal with the ‘Workouts’ and postings on the CrossFit IGNITE blog?”
We post workouts on our website daily. These workouts of the day (wod) are just a sampling of what is going on at “CF IGNITE” on any given day, not a strictly-adhered-to fitness program. If you are following along at home, or at another gym, great! BUT, WE DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO DO ALL OF THEM. We do not post rest days, aside sunday!
We recommend workout routines that include rest days based upon age, ability and fitness level. The CrossFit main site prescribes a routine of 3 days of working out followed by one day of rest (aka “3 on 1 off”), with a 1 week break (or ‘light duty’) every 6 – 8 weeks. This schedule promotes maximum benefits and progression. That being said, “3 on and 1 off” may not be appropriate nor convenient for everyone.
We discourage “Cherry Picking” (the choosing of workouts based upon how ‘easy’ they might be in comparison to one’s strengths). Don’t go the easy route, you are only cheating yourself.
Any time you want to check out and see what you have been missing at CrossFit IGNITE, you can go to the blog and check out some of our latest workouts and performances. We also encourage people to post their workout results on the ‘comments’ section of the post. This quasi ‘workout log’ can be used for future reference to track your progress.
So please come back often, post often (even if it is just to say “Hi”) and if you haven’t already, come by “CF IGNITE” and see the place in person. I guarantee you’ll have fun.
